Co-organizing ICASS 2025 & ISICT 2025 in Singapore
The 12th International Conference on Advances in Steel Structures (ICASS 2025) and the 4th International Symposium on Industrialized Construction Technology (ISICT 2025) wrapped up successfully in Singapore. The joint event brought together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to share ideas and explore the latest developments in steel structures and construction technologies.
Over the three-day conference, more than 250 high-quality papers were presented, highlighting the wide range of research happening across the global structural and construction engineering community. The technical program featured 14 keynote speakers and a full schedule of technical presentations covering everything from fundamental research to real-world applications.
The conference was sponsored by industry partners: TAL (Tongzheng Building Technology Singapore Private Limited), Sensorcraft Technology (S) Pte Ltd, CHEC (Singapore), Peak Kong Special Steel, and the Journal of Energy Infrastructure. Their sponsorship highlighted the strong connection between research, innovation, and industry practice.
Behind the scenes, ICASS 2025 & ISICT 2025 was made possible by the combined efforts of many contributors. Authors, reviewers, session organizers, and volunteers played a key role in delivering a smooth and engaging program, guided by the international scientific and organizing committees.
A small select group of young student volunteers also supported the conference, gaining hands-on experience in event operations while learning more about structural engineering studies and career pathways. They, too, had the opportunity to network with PhD students of the NUS Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. A select fresh graduate of BEng Civil Engineering from Institute Technology Bandung (Indonesia) came as a volunteer, and inspired by the event and new connections, decisively submitted an application for MSc Civil Engineering at NUS for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. A first year NAFA student took charge of the collation and presentation of images taken throughout the event, making it an important part of her portfolio. This is indeed the purpose of X-INTERVAL: Connecting Students, Unlocking Opportunities.
