An Exciting Day Out with CEE Students!

🚴‍♂ April 24 was a sweltering day, but it turned out to be perfect for our outing! Together with a group of enthusiastic students from the Civil & Environmental Engineering department, we embarked on an engaging cycling excursion through the historic Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar districts.

More than just a physical activity, the excursion was a dive into Singapore’s rich history and heritage. We stopped at several significant heritage sites, where students learned about the cultural and historical importance of these locations. Each stop was an opportunity to appreciate the blend of past and present of these vibrant areas.

A delicious chicken rice lunch at Maxwell Market, one of Singapore’s famous hawker centers, was one of the highlights of our cycling adventure, offering a chance to relax and enjoy a local meal.

We wrapped up our excursion with a visit to the URA City Gallery. It was our privilege to have Mr. Calvin Chung, Assistant CEO of JTC, join us. He generously shared his time and insights, offering a look at Singapore’s urban development and transformation through the years as well as a glimpse into future plans which aim to keep our city state at the forefront of innovation and sustainability.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out! A big thank you to everyone. We look forward to many more such enriching activities!
